ABOUT US

Mind Leap makes sure that parents and educators know which apps are educational and which aren’t, which keep kids engaged and which bore them to tears. And, we encourage developers to build great stuff that turns kids on to learning.

Dear friends,

I want to let you know what I’ve been up to in my spare time. I know, your thinking, “What spare time?” Well, I’ve joined forces again with two of the women I co-founded Escuela Billingue Internacional with to address an educational gap we were feeling for our own kids: finding really good educational apps. Check out our alpha version of Mind Leap!

If your kids (or grandkids, nephews etc.) are anything like mine, they are fascinated by technology and want to play all the latest games and apps. We all agree that it is great to be able to pass your phone back to them when you are stuck in traffic or in an interminable line – but you don’t want them to spend their time on brain-numbing activities.

BUT: with so many apps out there that say they’re educational, where to start? Who’s got the time to weed through them all? Our first step in developing Mind Leap is to help you know which apps are educational, which keep kids engaged and which bore them to tears.

Our bigger picture goal is to drive the development of high quality educational apps for our kids and yours and to be a resource for educators and developers alike. Mapping the landscape of top-notch educational apps is a start in this direction.

Check it out and tell us what you think! Keep in mind that this is an early alpha launch (meaning we have tons of improvements we want to make!) but please do feel free to pass it on.

Best,

-Liza
